Okay, folks it’s time to get real. If you think thinking Die Hard is a Christmas Movie makes you edgy, I’m sorry to tell you, but as of Christmas 2020, Die Hard as a Christmas Movie has entered the realm of conformist edginess like post-Load Metallica or the Red Hot Chili Peppers. If you want that same sense of cool, culturally literate detached irony in your Christmas adjacent movie choices, you are going to have to go a little harder, dig a little deeper.
And so, our almost late holiday present to you is to make you consider the 1955 American film noir classic The Night of the Hunter your new favorite Christmas movie.
