Are broken things more beautiful in their own way? Is the 1979 horror film Phantasm really like the painting Madonna with the Long Neck? We try to answer all of these questions AND discuss how this film does an excellent job of making virtue out of necessity. We also get into the way that, well sure, this movie is about alien corpse kidnappers, but it’s really a tender exploration of male grief in a coming of age film.
